After standing strong and celebrating the Millennium for 21 years the big storm on 11 March blew down and smashed the sign and broke the oak post. Members of the Coleorton Heritage Group and local residents moved quickly to secure the post and sign, and Heritage Group Treasurer and ace carpenter Mike Cox repaired the sign. A new post was purchased and fashioned to replace the old one.
On 23 April Mike Cox, Mick Specht, Chas Dillon and David Merriman erected the repaired sign. Since then the wrought iron brackets, shot-blasted, repainted, and looking smart have been fitted. Hopefully the sign will proudly celebrate Coleorton and its residents for another 21 years (at least!). A big thank you to everyone involved!
