The weather was good, the music was great and the community spirit unrivalled! Hopefully a wonderful time was enjoyed by all the visitors who came to celebrate at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee event on Zion Hill playing field on 4th June. Coleorton and Swannington Parish Councils jointly hosted the event which saw many activities for the children including a free bouncy castle, glitter tattoos, a corgi hunt and inflatable corgi races.
A variety of local community and volunteer groups were in attendance, all with exciting activities and information to share, and two great bands kept us musically entertained throughout the afternoon.
A big thank you to the volunteers who helped to set up and then assisted throughout the day; without these lovely people from Coleorton, Swannington and Griffydam the event would not have been possible. Many people commented about the communities coming together and wouldn’t it be great to do something again! Who knows what may happen in the future!
