Remembrance Sunday 8th November

Revd. Mary Gregory, Rector of St Mary's Church, Coleorton, writes:

Usually, St Mary's Church and Coleorton Parish Council would be welcoming the village to a simple Act of Remembrance at Coleorton's war memorial. This year, North West Leicestershire District Council have asked us all to 'Remember at Home', rather than risk gathering in numbers and spreading Covid-19 amongst us.

In anticipation of this, and with the help of local film makers Pudding Bag Productions, we have pre-recorded our Remembrance Sunday service. The film, shot in Ashby and in our villages, includes the central Act of Remembrance, together with beautiful prayers, readings and music from the St Helen's choir. Griffydam Community Group walk Saturday 21st November. Enjoy the glories of a magnificent wood in autumn. Meet Staunton Harold nursery car park 10-00. Duration 4 hours over paths, woods and fields. Wear appropriate clothes and footwear, and bring refreshments. An opportunity to have some exercise, meet others and get to know our area better.
