New bench at St. Mary’s

Almost 28 years to the day since Leicestershire County Council presented Coleorton Parish Council with a lovely wooden bench to commemorate the opening of the A512 Coleorton Improvement Road Scheme, the bench was removed because it had deteriorated badly as a result of weather and time.  The bench sat on the small green outside of St. Mary’s church for visitors or weary walkers to take a rest.  We’re pleased to let you know there is a new bench in position.  No trees were harmed in the construction of this bench, it’s made from easily maintained recycled plastic so we’ve done our bit towards helping the environment and we hope it will last longer than the 28 years of its predecessor.
