Coleorton Wood Spring and Summer Opening

1/04/21

Last year we trialled extended opening times at Coleorton Wood during Spring and Summer and if successful we committed to making this a permanent change.
We are pleased to confirm that the wood will be open again until 8.00 p.m. starting from 4th April through to 30th September. However, please bear in mind that during the first few days of April and the last few days of September it may still be dark before 8.00 p.m. and in this case the car park will be closed before dark.
As reported previously, problems in the wood are rare. Whilst the majority of dog walkers are very responsible, occasionally we are made aware that dog waste is not being picked up and removed.
The volunteer group which manages the woodland will be working there from time to time using a variety of power and hand tools so you should stay a safe distance from their work area, and particularly during continuing COVID restrictions please observe government guidance with respect to social distancing from the volunteers and other members of the public.
If you witness any issues that are a cause for concern whilst in the wood (fly tipping, anti-social behaviour, etc.) please don’t hesitate to contact Cllr. Terry Betts 01530 811269 / 07840 140281 or any councillor listed on the Coleorton website if Cllr. Betts is not available.
Please enjoy your Spring and Summer evening walks in the wood!
