A reminder that following last year’s trial to extend opening times at Coleorton Wood during Spring and Summer, the Parish Council has confirmed the new opening times are permanent. The car park is open up to 8.00 p.m. until 30th September; thereafter it will revert to 4.00 p.m. closing (although in the last few days of September it may be dark before 8.00 p.m. and in this case the car park will close earlier than 8.00 p.m.)
Since the latest easing of lockdown restrictions, the volunteer group which manages the woodland are now back on site and will be working there from time to time using a variety of power and hand tools so you should stay a safe distance from their work area.
During continuing COVID restrictions please observe government guidance with respect to social distancing from the volunteers and other members of the public.
The gate is opened and closed by volunteers; please respect the closing time and leave the car park promptly; its not really fair to them to have to hang around or return later in the evening.
If you witness any issues that are a cause for concern whilst in the wood (fly tipping, anti-social behaviour, etc.) please don’t hesitate to contact Cllr. Terry Betts 01530 811269 / 07840 140281 or any councillor listed on this website if Cllr. Betts is not available.
Please enjoy your Spring and Summer evening walks in the wood!
