Local History & Heritage

Our neighbouring village of Griffydam held an Open Gardens event on Saturday which was also the launch of their Heritage Trail. The event was well attended with visitors from Tamworth and Woodville among the many locals. The gardens were an inspiration and lots of us are going to have new projects once the weather gets a bit cooler!

If you didn't manage to get to Griffydam on Saturday, you can find details of the Heritage Trail on Griffydam Community website >>

About Coleorton Parish

Coleorton Parish includes the villages of Coleorton, Coleorton Moor, Church Town and Farm Town as well as parts of Peggs Green, Griffydam and Lount. The Parish Plan survey in 2008 found that parishioners felt communication of information throughout the parish was not effective and so a website was set up to address this. The website has now become a centre of information about activities and events in and around Coleorton, local clubs and organisations, a directory for local businesses and services and a platform for people who would like to share their enthusiasm for local history and the environment.

If you would like to contribute any item about Coleorton or surrounding areas or add details of your club, organisation or event (no charge) or have any suggestions for items on this website please email

Local businesses and services

Coleorton residents are an enterprising bunch: the latest Coleorton businesses listed in the local services directory include IT specialists, photographers and dog walkers. Email if you would like your local business listed (free of charge for Coleorton-based businesses or owners).
