Plant saleVolunteer Group plant sale

Saturday wasn't very sunny but at least it was dry and lots of local gardeners and potterers turned up at Coleorton Wood to stock up for the summer. The Coleorton and New Lount Volunteer Group were raising funds to help support the good work they do. If you missed it, or want more plants, they have another plant sale on 30th May. Volunteers at Coleorton LitterpickColeorton Litterpick

We had a good turn-out of volunteers on Saturday. It was a lovely warm and sunny morning which made the job a bit more pleasant. As usual the largest category of rubbish was discarded food wrappers, drinks cans and plastic bags. But there was also a lot of plastic sheeting and other garden/building waste and a television and a trailer! Thanks to all the volunteers and to MacDonalds Coalville for providing vouchers for the youngsters. More & photos >>

About Coleorton Parish

Coleorton Parish includes the villages of Coleorton, Coleorton Moor, Church Town and Farm Town as well as parts of Peggs Green, Griffydam and Lount. The Parish Plan survey in 2008 found that parishioners felt communication of information throughout the parish was not effective and so a website was set up to address this. The website has now become a centre of information about activities and events in and around Coleorton, local clubs and organisations, a directory for local businesses and services and a platform for people who would like to share their enthusiasm for local history and the environment.

If you would like to contribute any item about Coleorton or surrounding areas or add details of your club, organisation or event (no charge) or have any suggestions for items on this website please email webmaster@coleorton.org.uk.

Local businesses and services

Coleorton residents are an enterprising bunch: the latest Coleorton businesses listed in the local services directory include IT specialists, photographers and dog walkers. Email webmaster@coleorton.org.uk if you would like your local business listed (free of charge for Coleorton-based businesses or owners).
